This week we headed to Mosport for the Iracing America's Series. With the Championship battle between Marlon and Shaun pretty much being dusted, the boys went out there with clear mind's and a strong hope we would do well.

Curtis Chippeway: Started 4th, Finish 4th

Curtis had a fantastic debut race for Powerbond Racing Team! Curtis was able to drive his own race and put the pressure on Shaun early on. But with experience Shaun was slowly able to edge away, but Curtis was able to stay in a solid 4th and come home collecting a valuable 199 points to try and claim 3rd in the Championship. He was able to bring the car home without a scratch as well which is the first in Powerbond Racing Team career in about the last 3 months :P

Marlon McMullen: Started 9th, Finish 7th

Unfortunately these fast flowing tracks don't seem to suit Marlon's driving style and unfortunately for most of the week he struggled to construct a decent time. Being buried in the field with no confidence, he took off and watched a tussle unfold in front of him with Beau Cubis and Jake Burton. 

With this battle, Marlon pounced on Jake into the final corner claiming the spot. Unfortunately this all nearly turned into a complete catastrophe on the front straight when Marlon's team spotter cleared him when he wasn't... As Marlon came across to secure his line, he realised this was not the case when he was nearly facing the wall at 90 degrees to the left. (Marlon thonged his crew chief when he came back into the pits and apologized for cutting across Jake's bumper). After the first lap shuffling took place, Marlon found a strong Samuel Collins andMichael Fulcher taking chase. Samuel would eventually pass Marlon whilst Michael battled hard and was edging up to pass Marlon in the final few laps, when he unfortunately made the slightest mistake running wide. This was enough for Marlon to break out a slight gap which enabled him to come home in 7th. 

Tobias Czerny: Started 7th, Finish 8th

It was nice to see Tobias return again to his refreshing minty colour scheme and race in the America's Series after a difficult few months due to his studies. He was able to qualify a respectable 7th and was having a fantastic quiet race behind Curtis in a very strong 5th position. His performance was really encouraging as he was getting acquainted with his surroundings again. As the race developed, Beau Cubis slowly reeled Tobias in and they had a strong stouche over the next few laps. Unfortunately coming into T2, Tobias received a slight knock on the rear which sent him off, but luckily was able to get back on track and not loose too much time and sustain terminal damage. Re-joining in 9th he had Sanjin Delalic all over his rear bumper, but when Michael Fulcher made a mistake, Tobias capitalised and was able to catch back up and pounced on him into the final corner. Tobias held his nerve on exit and came across the line just pipping Michael by just 00.040 (40 thousandth's of a second!!) The difference between 8th and 9th was the skin on your teeth :P

Curtis: 4th
Marlon: 7th
Tobias: 8th
