Round 3 of the Iracing V8 Supercars Americas series saw us head to Oulton Park.

Curtis Chippeway : Started 3rd - Fin 2nd

Throughout the week and the last couple of rounds Curtis has been trying to get used to his new set of pedals.  Slowly and surely, this has started to pay off for him and Curtis has been able to adjust rather quite quickly.  Starting in a strong 3rd position, Curtis immediately rocketed into the race and stuck to the back of Tony Autridge's bumper like a cheap suit.

At about the half-way point of the race, Curtis would then capitalise on the gap he had slowly etched away for the past few laps and would then make an exciting pass up the inside to momentarily claim 2nd position.  Tony tried the over and under pass, to which Curtis simply denied the chance at turn 1 resulting in Curtis claiming 2nd position.  He would then hold off Tony to finish in 2nd position.

Marlon McMullen: Started 9th - Fin 5th

With Marlon having very limited running throughout the week (x3 qualifying sessions worth of practice) in the lead up to the event, he wasn't too confident in terms of his race pace or qualifying pace.  Rather than lament on a poor qualifying position he sprung into action instantly gaining x2 positions in the space of about 15m off the start line.

By half way through the lap, Marlon poised his car into a position of intimidation plucking off another position, ending up 6th by the end of the first lap.  From there on he tried to push forward and catch the next set of cars to try and improve his position even further.  Over the next 20 laps, Marlon would try everything he could to try and get past a fast Corey Preston and Michael Fulcher.  Rather than trying to force the issue to happen, Marlon elected to bide his time and see what developed over the course of the next set of laps.

This would ultimately pay off when Michael Fulcher made a slight mistake running wide losing x2 positions enabling Marlon to gain another position to be in 5th right on the tail of Corey Preston.  Over the next few laps Marlon would try everything he could in terms of pressure to try and cause Corey to have a slight mistake which he could pounce on.  Unfortunately this didn't happen and Marlon had to settle for 5th.
