For Round 2 of the IRacing V8 Supercars Americas series we headed back to Circuit Zolder after a 12 month racing hiatus at the venue. A tight tricky track to master proved to be the downfall of even the best drivers this week as some struggle to come to grips with the car since the recent update.

Curtis Chippeway : Started 5th - Fin 3rd

Curtis had mixed emotions going into the race after having a less than ideal run in the America's lead up race. But wanting to make amends for that, he started in a strong 5th and would end up having a fantastic race. Whilst the others around him fell off the track or had issues of their own, Curtis capitalised and quickly found himself moving up to be in contention for a top 3. As the race started to develop Curtis would get into a healthy battle amongst Michael Fulcher which would last till the end of the race.

Marlon McMullen: Started 6th - Fin 14th

Marlon had a very poor race by his standards due to limited race preparations and a spiking throttle pedal which would depress and accelerate everytime he tried to brake. Qualifying back in 6th, Marlon had a fantastic opening lap gaining one position, but all this would fall apart the next lap when Marlon made a very rare mistake spinning on the exit of the chicane dropping back down to 17th. As he tried to make his way back through the field in the short limited space of laps, Marlon dodged and avoided the carnage around him to elevate himself back up into 14th position. Unfortunately on the start of lap 8 bad luck would continue to strike. Going into turn 1, Marlon would find grief as he recieved a heavy shunt from behind which would end his race and put him two laps down.

We head to COTA next week for Round 3.

1st: Beau Cubis
2nd: Tony Autridge
3rd: Curtis Chippeway

14th Marlon McMullen

Curtis: 3rd
Marlon: 14th
