This week we headed to the synonymous Gilles Villeneuve, better known to some as Montreal. Yesterday Curtis and Marlon had very strong results in the America's lead up race and the team were feeling confident this week. A track which has traditionally suited the team over the past few seasons yet again paid off dividends in results today.

Marlon started on pole position with the fastest qualifying time of the week so far with a lap time of 1.36.824 with Tobias Czerny starting in 2nd position, also clocking in a 1.36.969. Curtis started in a very solid 4th position as well and was looking to capitalise on Beau Cubis with his strong race pace.

As the lights went out, Tobias got the initial jump on Marlon, but as Marlon held the inside line, he was able to avail out in 1st position. Curtis was looking to get by Beau Cubis quickly, which he did. But unfortunately while he was constructing the pass "net lag" interfered causing Curtis to receive some slight damage which also led to Beau Cubis momentarily finding the grass.

From there on Curtis was in hot pursuit of Tobias while Marlon was focusing on his own race pushing out a gap. As the race slowly panned out over the next course of laps, the team elected to come into the pits together to be serviced. After this Marlon had a 7 second lead to Tobias while Tobias had pushed out a gap on Curtis Chippeway. Marlon slowly extended his lead out to a 9 second gap but ultimately on lap 22 of 30, he pushed that little too hard. He would ultimately receive one of Montreal's famous slow down penalties which would cut that lead down to just 2.4 seconds. As Marlon served his crime and did the time, Tobias took flight after Marlon.

With Marlon being very disappointed and angry at himself for making a mistake, he put his head down and tried yet again to push out a gap to Tobias. For the next 8 laps, Marlon managed to push out that gap again, which rose back to 7 seconds.

As the team came around the final corner it was a Powerbond Racing 1,2,3!! Well done to the boys for achieving an awesome strong result and all their effort they put in this week. It certainly paid off!
